Leather Patch Materials and Quality
“Leather patch” is not one material specification. Useful evidence names the material, supplier terminology, attachment method and care boundary without inventing origin, grade or durability claims.

Leatherette or synthetic material may be sourced for a specific request, but it is not part of the standard advertised genuine-leather line.
How BCH attaches and checks the patch
BCH engraves and cuts the leather patch, bonds it in-house with a professional Hydbond 5 mil polyurethane heat-activated film adhesive system, and inspects the finished work. The material name documents an input; it does not prove that bonding is stronger than sewing, permanent, washable, waterproof, weatherproof or lifetime durable.
What BCH does not claim
Unless exact SKU-level evidence is available, BCH does not claim American origin, American leather, steer hide, top grain, full grain, a named tannery or equivalence to another leather program.
Care: BCH does not recommend washing a finished hat, including in a hat cage.
